The Chick Nursery
We have been chicken owners for several years now and just absolutely love it! We purchased our pullets from various places around town and brooded them in our house (not recommended), but ever since we got our rooster "Doc" we have been wanting to start raising chickens from start ourselves. We have a garden shed that is right next to our chicken coop and thought this would be a great place to convert into our chicken nursery.
The Brooder
We had a sliding glass dog door we were not using. I kept thinking it could possibly be used in the greenhouse, but then I had the idea of making it a window for the chicken brooder. So with the dog door, some scrap wood, and chicken wire we built a 2'x6' brooder with a viewing window. Perfect place for our chicks!
